I like Fopp-they have been selling James Bond DVDs for a fiver recently, and I bought the first series of the old British hospital comedy, Only When I Laugh. I feel tempted to buy the complete series of Twin Peaks there...

This place does the best hot chocolate and best bargains for CD's and DVD's. If you want something a bit unusual this is the place to go as it is the champion of all music and films quirky and arthouse.

Fopp has a great selection of DVDs and records and I always love to pick up a coffee when i go to the Manchester which only costs one pound. They occasionally do live play ins and those always create a great atmosphere. Good prices and good selection.

Fopp was one of my favourite music shops in Manchester. I go in there for my quid coffee and pick up loads of bargains. Still better than HMV (despite the ownership) and a company I always go to when I end up on Market Street. Can pick up quirky (but cheap) books, as well as a great selection of DVD's. They have a good Jazz section, and singer songwriter, and really if you visit regularly enough, you should never be needing to pay more than a fiver for a CD or DVD.

I was very sad when the Manchester store closed down but very glad when it re-opened! Although I have only just found out that it was saved by HMV. There have some great offers on fairly recent titles as you walk in (CD's & DVD's) and then downstairs there is a cafe. Always bustling with people and the staff are very friendly.

Fopp used to be an independent music store and although purchased by one of the larger chains it still retains all its own character. Nice place to get a drink and chill. Products competitively priced and often cheaper than their rivals.
