I was an undergrad student at the MMU, but I regularly visited friends from the UM at Owens Park. Noteworthy is when I just left school years ago I attended a convention there called UFOria, for one of my favorite TV series-Gerry Anderson's UFO. There I met the late Ed Bishop (Cmdr Ed Straker), Gabrielle Drake (Lt Gay Ellis) and Keith Alexander (Lt Ford?). Sadly I did not get chance to meet Gerry Anderson but I later met him on a few occasions at the FAB Cafe just before and after I completed my BSc. Owens Park itself vaguely in some parts resembles the SHADO HQ and other buildings on UFO!

A little bit too tall, but means well. Its proximity to Sainsburys is handy.

The OP Bop- infamous in my day. Owens park was always the best place to do your emails when I was at Uni- and we'd also manage to ponce our way in. I can't comment on the bar currently, all the accommodation now, as I haven't been there recently. I'm surprised its still there. There was a time the tower block was due to be demolished! To be honest I'm glad it hasn't as the architecture really lights up the night sky.

The largest Halls of Residence in Manceshter, it certainly isn't for the faint-hearted! Located right in the heart of student-ville, OP has definitely got it going on. Brilliant location, great people, lots to do. Definitely recommended.

Large, busy and happening hall in fallowfield centre. Great computer facilities, good mix of rooms on corridors and shared flats. Limted student parking but the massive bar and function rooms more than make up for that. Dont forget to get yourself down to the friday night bop.
