12 Mar 16:30Despite having lived in manchester for over 10 years now, i only recently ventured into the Whitworth Art Gallery with my kids during half term. They laid on a fabulous range of holiday activities, all for free, and run by really friendly, artistic peeps from the gallery. We attended an arty picnic (indoors) where we made tiger masks from a host of crafty bits and bobs...and another day we joined in a mobile-making session. My 3 daughters LOVED it and can't wait to go back at Easter!

20 Oct 03:59The room with the wall of windows looking out over the trees and green of Whitworth park is one of my fave places in Manchester....hidden gem.

10 Oct 07:30I'm really impressed by the effort made by the gallery for children and families. We had lots of fun in the teepees and creative space upstairs. The gallery also offered a free room for a community event I organised which was a huge benefit.

07 Oct 16:53Having been at University with the music department a matter of metres away from the art gallery, I loved being able bob along here. Have good ongoing selections of exhibitions which normally run for three months. Entrance is free, and they have a cafe within. Its understated and consistent. Even just to pop in for a quick 10 minute run around is worth it!
